If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the midweek action brought to you by Soccer 6 and guest predictor, Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper, Sean Roberts.
REAL MADRID V MANCHESTER UNITED
League position: Real 3rd and United 1st
Useful facts: In this cracker of a Champions League tie, a talented but inconsistent Real Madrid take on Manchester United at the Bernabeu. United are in incredible form and will feel confident of giving the Galacticos a stiff test.
Sean Roberts: I think Real Madrid will win at home.
AJAX CAPE TOWN V MOROKA SWALLOWS
League position: Ajax 14th and Swallows 11th
Useful facts: Ajax had a horrible first half of the season and still remain genuine contenders to get relegated. The Urban Warriors will be hoping their new signings can help to turn things around. Swallows, on the other hand, also haven’t been convincing, so this could be a tight one in Cape Town.
Sean Roberts: The atmosphere in our camp is upbeat. It’s tougher now with more competition for places. Win for Ajax.
ORLANDO PIRATES V SUPERSPORT UNITED
League position: Pirates 2nd and United 8th
Useful facts: Pirates look to be a strong force in the very capable hands of Roger de Sa. Bucs will be chasing all three points against draw specialists, SuperSport. The game will also serve both sides well as they prepare for action in their respective continental club competitions.
Sean Roberts: I’ll go for a draw. SuperSport draw a hell of a lot of games!
UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA V GOLDEN ARROWS
League position: Tuks 6th and Arrows 13th
Useful facts: Tuks have shown themselves to be a very competent team in the PSL. The professionalism and good attitude shown behind the scenes helping the team to get results on the pitch. Goal-shy Golden Arrows will have to be at their best to take anything away from this encounter.
Sean Roberts: This will be a tight one, so I’ll tip a draw.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V LYON
League position: Spurs 4th and Lyon 2nd
Useful facts: In this Europa league clash taking place at White Hart Lane, in-form Spurs prepare for the visit of highflying French outfit Olympique Lyonnais. Lyon are a team that can score goals and should pose some problems for André Villas Boas’ men.
Sean Roberts: I think Spurs will win this by the odd goal.
