In Spain, Real Madrid take on Barcelona in a first leg, semi-final, Copa del Rey clash. With, arguably, the world’s two best club sides going head-to-head, the world’s footballing fraternity will be watching. With a rich history and fierce rivalry, who will come out on top?
If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the midweek action brought to you by Soccer 6 and guest predictor, Soccer-Laduma journalist, David Minchella.
REAL MADRID V BARCELONA
League position: Real 3rd and Barcelona 1st
Useful facts: In this Copa del Rey first leg semi-final, Real Madrid will hope to put what has been a disappointing season behind them by beating Barcelona. Barca continue to be in imperious form although they did suffer their first league defeat of the season recently.
David Minchella: Real win. They’ve got to win something because it won’t be La Liga.
ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL
League position: Arsenal 6th and Liverpool 7th
Useful facts: Arsenal and Liverpool are in a fierce battle to both stay in touch with the top four sides. The Gunners are still a little erratic and inconsistent in their form while Liverpool look to be on the rise. This could be a cracking game at the Emirates.
David Minchella: I’m going to go with a shock Liverpool away win!
LEICESTER CITY V WOLVES
League position: City 2nd and Wolves 18th
Useful facts: City are strong candidates to gain automatic promotion back to the Premiership, such is their form in the Championship. Despite having a talented squad, Wolves are struggling badly and are flirting with the relegation zone. This means City will feel they’ve got enough to take all three points.
David Minchella: City win.
