The biggest Barclays English Premiership fixture of the weekend sees Jose Mourinho's Blues host bitter rivals, Manchester United. The Red Devils have endured a difficult time under David Moyes in this campaign, and have slipped down the standings to seventh position most recently after suffering two consecutive defeats in a row at home. Chelsea on the other hand could move to the top of the standings if both Arsenal and Manchester City lose ground this weekend. The 'Special One' could take four points off the Old Trafford side with a win after playing to a goalless draw in August of 2013.

Swansea City are at home to Tottenham Hotspur in their lunch time clash against Tim Sherwood's side on Sunday. The Swans are looking to get back to winning ways after succumbing to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Manchester United last weekend. Michael Laudrup and his charges have already lost three points against the Lily Whites in the first round of the league, and home ground advantage could just prove vital for them to slowly move up the table.

Touted as the 'final' of the group stages, this clash will see two powerhorses of African soccer in South Africa and Nigeria log heads when the two teams meet for their final Group A clash in the Chan 2014 tournament on Sunday night. Both teams will need wins to progress to the quarterfinal stages of the tournament, but the Super Eagles are most at pressure of delivering the goods, with nothing less than a win automatically meaning they will book an early trip back home. Bafana Bafana only need a draw to advance, but will look to go all out for the three points and top the group.

League position: Chelsea 3rd and United 7th

Useful tips: In what could perhaps be the defining game in David Moyes’ relatively short time in charge, Jose Mourinho’s title-chasing Chelsea take on United at Stamford Bridge. A loss for Moyes could fatally smash the fragile remaining trust his players have in him. However, a win at the Bridge against the commanding Mourinho could be a huge turning point in his career. Expect a cracking affair in London.

Paul Johnstone: United win. I think Moyes is in such deep trouble he needs a win.

League position: Swansea 13th and Spurs 6th

Useful tips: Swansea have had an uncertain run of form of late after starting the season brightly. Spurs, meanwhile, are a resurgent side and it seems Tim Sherwood has restored confidence levels. This could be a tight affair in Wales.

Paul Johnstone: Spurs looking good under Sherwood. Win for Spurs.

League position: Nigeria 3rd and SA 1st (both Group A)

Useful tips: In a game which could potentially decide the outcome of Group A, Nigeria take on Chan hosts South Africa at Cape Town Stadium. This could be a nervy action-packed affair because, depending on the results of the second matches played in the group prior to this contest, both sides may both need to chase the win. This means there could be fireworks in the Mother City.

Paul Johnstone: I’m going to say Bafana will win all their group games. Win for Bafana.
