We preview three of tonight’s UEFA Champions League fixtures, with a number of the European giants in action.
In what is arguably the pick of the lot from tonight’s action, defending champions, Bayern Munich, will be in England where they will be hosted by Manchester City. Who do you think will win?
Last season’s French champions, Paris Saint Germain, will welcome Benfica to the French capital, while Juventus locks horns with Galatasaray in Turin. Who is your money on?
If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the fixtures brought to you by Soccer 6 and guest predictor, Free State Stars midfielder, Danny Venter.
MANCHESTER CITY V BAYERN MUNICH
League position: City 2nd and Bayern 1st (in Group D)
Useful facts: In what could be an absolute cracker in this Champions League group stage encounter, a dangerous City take on German juggernauts, Bayern Munich. City’s recent form has been a little inconsistent, meaning FC Hollywood could be slight favourites in this encounter.
Danny Venter: This one will be a lovely draw because both teams are in form.
PARIS SAINT GERMAIN V BENFICA
League position: PSG 1st and Benfica 2nd (Group C)
Useful facts: PSG are an excellent attacking side and always carry a threat with a powerhouse like Zlatan Ibrahimović upfront. This means that Benfica may see a point as a very good result when they travel to France.
Danny Venter: PSG are a good side at home. Win for PSG.
JUVENTUS V GALATASARAY
League position: Juventus 2nd and Galatasaray 4th (Group B)
Useful facts: Juventus are always a tough nut to crack when they play at home and the Old Lady will be aiming to record all three points at Juventus Stadium. Galatasaray recently sacked their coach, which means the Italians will feel confident of collecting all three points.
Danny Venter: Juventus will win at home.
