A fixture change for Mamelodi Sundowns has been confirmed after the club’s elimination from the CAF Champions League.
The Brazilians crashed out of the prestigious continental competition after playing to a 0-0 draw at home against Horoya of Guinea last Tuesday.
As a result of the team’s results in the Champions League, it has been confirmed by AmaZulu that their Absa Premiership match against Sundowns has been brought forward.
“AmaZulu’s Absa Premiership home fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns has been brought forward to 16 September by (the) PSL following a change in the Brazilians' continental commitments,” confirmed AmaZulu on the club’s official website.
As confirmed by the Durban-based club, the match will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium from 15h00.
“The fixture was initially scheduled to be played on 20 February. Last season’s meeting between the two sides was the subject of much fanfare in both home and away rounds. AmaZulu won 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the first round, while Sundowns came out 3-1 victors at the King Zwelithini Stadium,” added AmaZulu.
