Both the Police Minister Bheki Cele and National Police Commissioner Khehla Sithole have provided crucial update on the investigation in the Senzo Meyiwa case.
Today, 26 October 2020, marks six years since Meyiwa was shot and killed in a house in Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni and no one has been sentenced for his murder.
As confirmed by both Cele and Sithole on Monday afternoon, five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder case of the former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
The five suspects were nabbed in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng respectively on Monday morning and are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, as confirmed by the authorities.
Among the suspects is the person who allegedly pulled the trigger on that fateful night of 26 October 2014.
“Some of these suspects were arrested while they were outside custody but some were charged because they were already in custody on other cases,” Sithole said, in part, speaking to the media.
