Five Key Kaizer Chiefs Players To Once Again Step Up For The Team Against Baroka
Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns with Baroka FC in the quarter-finals of the domestic cup competition and based on the statistics, Soccer Laduma takes a look at five of Amakhosi’s in-form players who will once again look to step up for the team.
The last time Amakhosi were in action was prior to the FIFA break when they hosted AmaZulu FC in the Absa Premiership.
Despite playing to a 0-0 draw on March 17, the likes of Daniel Cardoso and Ramahlwe Mphahlele put in a good shift to the Amakhosi side, becoming some of their key players on the day.
Mphahlele tallied 92 touches on the ball, took two shots, made 60 successful passes with a passing accuracy of 85%.
Tshabalala touched the ball 73 times, had one of his shots on target with an accuracy of 100% and tallied 40 successful passes.
Cardoso made 16 clearances from his defensive position, won the ball 31 times and had a 73% passing accuracy.
Katsande had a 95% passing accuracy and made 39 successful passes.
Molangoane had a 90 passing accuracy and made 52 successful passes from his right-midfield position.
However, Saturday’s Nedbank Cup clash will be all-important for the Amakhosi, with the team being aware that everyone will need to step up as this could be their final shot at domestic silverware this season.
The match is scheduled to take place at 20:15 on Saturday, 31 March 2018.
