Cape Town City’s Surprise Ralani is one of five DStv Premiership stars who recently had options on their contracts taken up. But who else is staying put at their clubs?
With 83 appearances for the club, in which he scored 12 goals and provided a further 21 assists, it is little wonder then that Cape Town City have exercised the one year option on star winger, Ralani’s contract, which will see him stay with the club until June 2022.
Ralani, who scored in City’s one-all draw with Baroka FC over the weekend, has been one of City’s top performers since joining from Helsingborgs IF in Sweden, in January 2018.
At 33, the winger has showed no signs of slowing down and has been key for coach Jan Olde Riekerink’s side this season, making 14 appearances already, in which he has scored four goals and provided three assists.
In Soccer Laduma edition 1208, his club boss John Comitis has praised the Stars of Africa product for his contribution to the Citizens so far.
“He is a big asset for us and has been one of our top performers for the last few seasons. Even if he plays half the amount of games next season, he’s still not going anywhere,” Comitis said of his star performer.
