Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Fire Masilela, believes that Anele Ngcongca would fit in better at Mamelodi Sundowns than at Kaizer Chiefs, amid rumours of a return to South Africa.
Ngcongca ended a nine-year association with his former club, Genk, when he terminated his contract with the club and he could to return to South Africa and has been linked with moves to both Sundowns and Chiefs. Masilela has praised the full-back’s quality, emphasizing the value he adds to the team in terms of pace.
“I think Anele (Ngcongca) is a quality player and he’s gained a lot of experience playing over there (in Belgium),” he told Soccer Laduma. “He’s a relatively young defender that will work hard to achieve more. And with the squad that Sundowns have, he can add speed and will be able to surprise the opposition.”
Masilela went on to say that Ngcongca should shy away from a move to Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, who he believes will need more time to return to their best and that Sundowns would be the better choice for the 28-year-old.
“I’m not sure if he should go to Chiefs because they are still trying to find their feet and Komphela’s not had good fortunes, so it’s going to take time for them to get back. But I think Sundowns are the best team and they have the right players for him to play with,” he concluded.
