Ndoro Latest: FIFA Confirm PSL/SAFA Contact

Football’s governing body, FIFA, have confirmed that they have been contacted by both the Premier Soccer League and the South African Football Association regarding Tendai Ndoro.

Having already played for Orlando Pirates and Al-Faisaly this season, FIFA’s rules state that the Zimbabwean was ineligible to feature for Ajax Cape Town following his move from Saudi Arabia, however, he has gone on to play in three Absa Premiership games.

Things got interesting when the PSL’s Dispute Resolutions Chamber cleared Ndoro to play against Pirates in a game that the Urban Warriors won 3-0, despite the league saying that they disagreed with the decision and had appealed it.

Before the game, Pirates filed a protest over the inclusion of Ndoro in the side, but the game went ahead and the 29-year-old went on to record an assist in the thrashing in Cape Town.

The Siya crew has previously explained that FIFA had been in contact with the PSL and SAFA, something that has now been confirmed by the governing body themselves.

A FIFA spokesperson responded to the crew by saying, “We can confirm that FIFA has been contacted by Premier Soccer League and the South African Federation in connection with the possible eligibility of a player to play official matches for a potential third club in view of art. 5 par. 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. FIFA has already answered and referred them to the applicable regulations.”

With Ajax in action against Polokwane City this weekend, Ndoro looks set to play again for Muhsin Ertugral’s side, although the matter is ongoing as the PSL wait for the outcome of their appeal.
