SuperSport United’s veteran goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez, will keep his spot between the posts in the absence of injured number one, Ronwen Williams.
Matsatsantsa were dealt a major blow in the 2-1 defeat against Orlando Pirates, which saw them crash out of the Telkom Knockout, when Williams was carried off in the early stages of the match.
Fernandez was then called upon by Cavin Johnson and put in a fine performance for the club, although he could not prevent them from elimination. He was also unable to stop Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at home to Ajax Cape Town.
Williams has since been ruled out for around four weeks with a hamstring tear, which will now mean it will be up to the 35-year-old Fernandez to fill the gap until Ronwen is able to return.
Boalefa Pule, SuperSport’s third choice ‘keeper, will no doubt be pushing for a place in the starting XI, but it is thought that Johnson would rather use the experienced Fernandez in goal.
Meanwhile, the former Kaizer Chiefs man says that they’re determined to bounce back when they face Wits on December 10.
He told the club’s website, ““It was bad losing two matches in a row at home. However, this is football and hopefully we will bounce back in the next game.”
SuperSport have now lost two games on the bounce, and could drop to fifth place in the PSL should tonight’s results go against them.
