Orlando Pirates are planning to part ways with goalkeeper Felipe Ovono during the January transfer window.
The shot-stopper has been facing serious criticism after his poor form and mistakes in goal for the Soweto giants as of late.
The 23-year-old was placed on the transfer window during the off-season, before coach Mushin Ertugral recalled the player to his first-team squad.
However, Ovono has failed to impress so far, and the club is looking to offload the 23-year-old during the January transfer window next year.
A Siya source revealed that in the final week of the transfer window, Bucs were close to releasing the player. Now Ovono’s camp are once again assessing the player’s options, according to sources.
“He (Ovono) is not in the good books with top management (at Pirates) and (they) wanted to give him his clearance before the transfer window period closed last month,” the source revealed.
“His agent is already preparing to get him a team next year in January,” added the source.
