The Siya crew has previously reported that Khan – who spent five-and-a-half years at Naturena between 1997 and 2002 – is the club’s first choice to take over their youth setup, with the coach’s youth academy, Stars of Africa, developing players such as Tokelo Rantie, Tefu Mashamaite and more over the years.
Back in November, Khan told the crew, “Yes, I have had talks with them, but I’m still awaiting confirmation on their final decision. So far there has been no feedback.”
Now, however, as reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the coach is believed to have had another meeting with Chiefs over a possible return to Naturena, with his previous experience there making him an ideal candidate that already knows ‘tThe Chiefs way’.
The crew contacted Chiefs’ communications manager, Vina Maphosa, and asked for updates on Khan’s situation, although no response was given.
