Free State Stars head coach, Luc Eymael was pleased with what his saw from side in the 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Belgian tactician begin his reign in the Free State with defeat to the Brazilians at Goble Park on Monday evening.
"I think we did very well. We were very well organised and structured. We create so many chances, two times the goal completely empty but unfortunately we didn't score, I don't know why," Eymael told SuperSport after the game.
"In this kind of game when you create big chances, you have take the lead at the beginning of the game.
"Unfortunately we concede one or two minute before the end of the first half, the substitution of Percy Tau, he scored a very good free-kick.
"When start the game again, we concede a second goal. We lost the ball in the midfield, nobody made a professional foul. The opponent cannot be allowed to gain so many metres of field and then he scored.
"We never give up, we fought until the end. We showed that we created chances in the second half. I change the system, we push everybody in the front. We scored a bit late unfortunately but we were certainly not worse than Sundowns in matter of playing style. We have to build on that and gain confidence, and I think we can achieve good things with this team."
