A former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker has surfaced at AmaZulu as the Durban-based club looks to strengthen the squad for the new season.
Following his departure from Cape Town City in May, Siphelele Mthembu returned home to KwaZulu-Natal to attend to some personal issues, as reported at the time.
The 33-year-old’s contract with the Mother City outfit was set to expire at the end of the 2019/20 season, and an agreement was reached for his early release.
Earlier this month, AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela confirmed that Usuthu would be looking for a striker to add to the squad after the club parted ways with Slovakian forward Milos Lacny.
“For now, where we feel we need to strengthen and back-up is upfront and we will be actively looking for Bongi Ntuli and Lehlohonolo Majoro back-up,” the general manager said at the time, speaking to the media.
