Promotion Candidates Strengthen With More Players
Experience Key In Club Promotion Aspirations
Three players have been added to the Buya Msuthu FC squad, as the ABC Motsepe League side is attempting to qualify for promotional play-offs, with a view to gain promotion to the NFD.
The North West-based side played at the 2017 ABC Motsepe League national play-offs but came short of winning promotion.
The team is currently at the top of the log with 10 wins from 10 matches. As confirmed by the team’s head coach Kabelo Sibiya, the club has completed the signings of Lucky Mathosi from Mthatha Bucks, as well as former African Warriors central defender Innocent Marakane, who has been playing for Dondol Stars in Gauteng’s ABC Motsepe League.
The University of Pretoria left back Ronald Lingwathi has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
“I’m very happy to have made these signings. Yes, the team is doing well but we have identified areas in our team where we need to strengthen. There were NFD teams interested in Mathosi and we had to work hard to bring him to the club, with his Premier Soccer League and NFD experience. I believe that he is capable of helping us to promote this club,” Sibiya told the Siya crew.
Last year, Buya Msuthu played in the Nedbank Cup and were knocked out of the competition by Bloemfontein Celtic in the Last 32 round of the competition.
