Former Jomo Cosmos defender Ofosu Appiah is set to sign with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghanaian Premier League. Appiah returned home after parting ways with Cosmos last year.
Although the player wanted to stay in the PSL, he decided to go home after a few clubs there showed interest in his services. According to the player's agent, Dumisa Mthunzi, Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko were also keen on the 23-year-old.
Appiah played for Kotoko before joining Ezenkosi. Mthunzi confirmed that the player is already training with Chelsea in Ghana as negotiations for his move continue.
"I have been busy trying to get a deal for Ofosu Appiah at Asante Kotoko in Ghana. They wanted him back. Asante Kotoko is preparing for a campaign in the Champions League and need more players. I was busy with them but we couldn't reach an agreement. Now, (Berekum) Chelsea is also showing interest. I'm just waiting for the owner of the team and we'll finalise. Both teams are in the same league in Ghana and are pushing for honours. The boy is training with Chelsea," said Mthunzi.
