Seale: Shakes Made Me Excel

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender, Rudolph Seale, revealed that the passing on of his former teammate, Isaac ‘Shakes’ Kungwane, has robbed the footballing community of a good man.

Gardner is famed for his runs down the left flank, and speaking to the crew, Seale says that his success must be accredited to the late Kungwane. They both played for Amakhosi in the 90’s, and he paid tribute to the fallen left-footed footballer.

The former Chiefs star who was a widely popular and respected figure, died in hospital yesterday after failing to recover from a medical condition he was suffering with.

“Look, we’ve been robbed of a great man, a friend, a former teammate. He was such a bubbly guy. We used to travel by bus when going to our games, and he would just joke in the bus, very intelligent jokes and nobody would ever hold a grudge against him. He didn’t want to see anybody going through hell alone, and he’d even lend a financial assistance or help. He was a generous guy and would go out of his way to help."

“Let me talk from a personal point of view about Shakes. I wouldn’t have made all the runs down the flank if it were not for his passes. I believe Shane McGregor and Fani Madida could say the same thing about Shakes. All the goals they scored and crosses I made, were all because of Shakes' brilliant passing. "

"He was the provider of great passes with his left foot. All of us have lost a brother in the football community, not only his colleagues on television or his family. We have lost and we share the same pain of losing him, may his soul rest in peace. You know when I went to the national team, I never made it big because he wasn’t there."

“The selectors saw me overlapping at club level but they never noticed who made that possible. As a result, I failed to make an impact because quality passes were not there. As we speak, I’m going to visit his family and they must be strong because we’re all feeling the pain,” said Seale.

Also known as ‘Kasi Flavour’, Kungwane was working for SuperSport’s Extra Time show at the time of his passing.

Soccer Laduma send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Kungwane.
