The Siya crew can reveal that former Bay United defender Sakhile Makhathini has decided to hang up his boots.
The 29-year-old player started out at Maritzburg City in the Vodacom League and went on to play for the likes of Jomo Cosmos, United, Thanda Royal Zulu and Chippa United. After struggling to get a club, he has packed it in and will be focusing on other interests.
He revealed, “Because of injuries and the politics in South African football, I have decided to officially hang up my boots. I’ve been thinking about it for some time.
“As I close this chapter, I’m thankful to my family, friends, fans and most importantly the Almighty. Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible.”
