The Siya crew can confirm that former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper, Andre Petim, is still looking for a club.
As previously reported by the crew, the shot-stopper parted ways with the club after he failed to make an impression with Anssi Jaakkola and Brandon Petersen doing well for the club.
The crew contacted Petim to follow up on developments surrounding his future, and the keeper revealed that he’s still looking for a club, but taking it easy.
“There’s nothing I can tell you for now, I’m still waiting to hear from my agent. He’s the one who can tell me if there are clubs interested in my services. I hope to get something soon though, but I’ll let you know obviously,” said Petim.
The 29-year-old keeper didn’t play a single game for the Urban Warriors this past season. He joined Ajax in 2004 until 2012, and was loaned out to Golden Arrows and Vasco Da Gama respectively, where he made a comeback at the beginning of this past season.
Speaking to the crew, his agent Mickey Paiva, revealed that it’s still early days, and he has nothing to announce for now.
“I’m working for the player to get a deal, there’s nothing new regarding his situation. I’m not saying there’s no contact yet, but I can tell you there’s nothing to report for now. There are clubs interested, but I can’t reveal names yet as it’s still too early. I’m working for the player and I can’t speculate yet,” said Paiva.
The crew will monitor the keeper’s situation and keep you updated.
