Having tested his new team out in the preseason, Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral believes that his plan is starting to take shape.
Ertugral took over the Buccaneers following Eric Tinkler’s trophyless season at Mayfair in 2015/16, and has had a number of preseason games to try out new systems - including games against Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns. Ahead of the new Absa Premiership season, Ertugral has said that it will take time for his team to adapt, but that the team is getting closer to that point.
“It will always take time before everyone understands how we want to play this season,” he told journalists. “But after playing few games in the preseason the plan is coming together.”
The former Mpumalanga Black Aces coach went on to say that the match against Golden Arrows on Wednesday will be important for his team’s progress and will serve as a foundation for his plan.
“I know we are starting with Golden Arrows and it’s important that we do well in our first game and build from there,” the former Kaizer Chiefs coach expressed.
