Ertugral: Players Can't Play To Instructions
Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral was disappointed with his players' performance against Cape Town City on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers struggled to find a foothold in the tie and spent most of their time defending. In the end they only survived against a Cape Town side that threatened their goal constantly.
"I think the fans who came in numbers tonight need an apology," Ertugral said after the game.
"The decisions in the last third, the last pass, the last cross, the last move, when to go, when to stay; we're working on it every day.
"There's a long-long way to go. Some of the players need to understand how to play to instructions.
"I feel sorry about the expectations of the fans that we could not fulfill."
Pirates lost Gift Motupa to an injury in the first five minutes of the clash, and Ertugral believes it made a big impact, adding: "That affected us a lot. Gift was exactly the type of player that we needed tonight to make those late runs into the box."
