Ernst Middendorp could decide to step down as the head coach of Chippa United, according to the information on the Siya crew’s desk.
Middendorp’s situation at Chippa has turned from bad to worse, following the team’s 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates last night (Tuesday).
It was revealed by the Siya crew this morning that Chippa supporters are demanding that the German coach should vacate his position as the head coach of the side.
According to a high ranking source at Chippa, the club’s chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi is feeling the pressure from the supporters to dismiss Middendorp from the side.
“The chairman is not happy, but is feeling sad for the coach and his situation. There are other members of the management who don’t feel for him anymore.
"The chairman is thinking about the talks that will follow about him firing yet another coach, should he do so. That guy (Middendorp) is going to leave through the pressure from the supporters.
"The coach might resign on his own. The club hasn’t spoken about relieving him of his duties just yet,” said the source.
The Chilli Boys have collected two points out of a possible 15 under the guidance of the former Bloemfontein Celtic coach.
The side was booted out of the Nedbank Cup by the ABC Motsepe League outfit, Natal United.
