Young Njabulo Blom, who is just 19, was confirmed as a first team player on Wednesday by the Glamour Boys after they announced a contract renewal for Bernard Parker, and they also confirmed the length of his senior deal at the club.
Chiefs confirmed that Blom’s contract came into place on March 1 and will run until the end of the 2023 season, with the young defender now looking to follow in the footsteps of Happy Mashiane and grab an Absa Premiership debut before the season is out.

Speaking about the teenage South African youth international, Middendorp told the club’s official website, “It is part of our development process to identify talent for the first team… Blom is a different kind of player, one who works very hard on improving his game.
“Njabulo started working with us when I arrived at the club in December 2018. He will learn more as we go along. And, if selected for the upcoming Under-20s World Cup, Njabulo will also pick up immense experience from playing against countries like Argentina.”
It remains to be seen when the defender will get his chance to play for Chiefs’ first team, though Amakhosi fans will be delighted to see him join the likes of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Happy Mashiane and Emmanuel Letlotlo who previously went from the Multichoice Diski Challenge into the Premier Soccer League.
