The Glamour Boys will do battle with their bitter rivals on Saturday afternoon as the two clubs look to try and close the gap on league leaders, Bidvest Wits, and Middendorp will be happy that there are no fresh injury concerns going into the encounter.
Chiefs have lost the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Lebogang Manyama to long-term injuries recently, while Erick Mathoho and Joseph Molangoane are still recovering from problems that they sustained last year.
Now, with the Soweto Derby on the horizon, the German has given an update on where his players are currently at.
He told the media, “Everybody knows he (Khune) is not available, probably preparation time will start in June/July. Tower, I don’t have to mention, if he had been fit and in a normal physical state then he would be first XI, no doubt about his importance. Lebogang Manyama is another player who we have seen really huge progress during December/January…
“Guys like Rama and Philani Zulu are back in the process of training. They got two or three games in the Diski team… Both will probably be in the squad.”
