Kaizer Chiefs have had their injury problems this season, but there’s some good news coming out of Naturena as they give updates on Erick Mathoho and Lebogang Manyama.

Both players have been sidelined for some time now as they both required surgery on their respective problems, and while Manyama was originally ruled out for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign, it appears he could be back in action sooner than expected.
Though neither is available for the clash with Maritzburg United this evening, it appears ‘Tower’ and Manyama may be able to return to the Amakhosi squad in April.
On their official website today, the club said, “For the first time after two months, the towering figure of Mulomowandau Mathoho appeared to go comfortably through his drills at training on Friday. Lebogang Manyama is also getting closer to full recovery. Both are due for full training in two to three weeks’ time.”

They also added, “Itumeleng Khune (shoulder) and Happy Mashiane (toe) are still working out in the gym and will not take part in tonight’s Absa Premiership fixture.”
Chiefs need to win this evening if they’re to stand any chance of closing the gap on league leaders, Orlando Pirates.
