Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler, expects his midfielders to contribute to his team’s goalscoring exploits after he saw them do so in his team’s 5-0 demolition of Jomo Cosmos on the weekend.
The 45-year-old emphasised that he would like to see his midfielders reach goal tallies in the double figures, which will ease the burden on his strikers.
"Attacking midfielders should be contributing 10-15 goals a season, let alone the main striker. If we can be scoring like that, it could be easy for everyone, " Tinkler told the Siya crew.
Tinkler added that his team’s struggles earlier this season are precisely because of their failures to find the back of the net.
“If you look at that goals we concede they are very low but at the same time we don't score that much. We need to improve on our attacking players scoring more goals," Tinkler observed.
Pirates have scored 30 goals in 22 PSL matches this season.
