“There is never job security,” said SuperSport United head coach, Eric Tinkler after his third consecutive Absa Premiership fixture without a win.

The Urban Warriors claimed a much-needed victory over SuperSport at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday, adding another knock in Matsatsantsa’s challenge to improve their position on the Absa Premiership league standings.

SuperSport, who are 15th placed on the log are currently just three points away from the danger zone, although, ensuring maximum points in their following encounters will take them as high up as the top eight of the league standings.

“We need to obviously, at the training ground, relay that message to the players that we need to get a result against Maritzburg and we can't allow complacency or the confidence to drop,” Tinkler explained.

“The players respond off me ultimately, I have to be brave enough to take responsibility for the losses and keep them motivated to get the results.

“It has been a long season, (or) seasons, for these guys and we just have to find ways to ensure that we pick up maximum points,” he added.

SuperSport will host Maritzburg United on Saturday, March 03, locking horns with the Team of Choice who cannot be completely ruled out of the race for the Absa Premiership title.

@Thobeka Masina, but Tinkler has a silverware under his belt, if he is indeed a bad Coach, what about Prof Komphela who has never won anything major?
