Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Eric Ramasike, believes that Jeremy Brockie would be a great addition to the Brazilians attack after reports linked the SuperSport United player with a move to Chloorkop.
In Soccer Laduma issue number 1022 it was revealed that the New Zealand international has found his way onto Ka Bo Yellow’s radar again, having been targeted by the Brazilians in July last year, after continuing to impress on the field of play with his current employers. In response to questions about whether Brockie can fit in at the reigning league champions, Ramasike has responded positively, saying that he would boost their already formidable attack.
“That would be great!” he told Soccer Laduma. “He’s been in great form for SuperSport. He would be a good addition to their attack and that would be a great boost for Sundowns.”
Ramasike went on to explain that Brockie can play a role up front that nobody in the current Sundowns squad is able to.
“We don’t have an out and out striker in our attack. Percy Tau drops into the midfield at times and (Khama) Billiat is also really a midfielder, Laffor, when he plays is also more of a midfielder and then there’s (Leonardo) Castro,” he continued. “You can see, with the type of player that Brockie is, he’s the kind of player that stays up front, but Castro isn’t, he drops deep.
“So Brockie would be a good buy for Sundowns. But I don’t know if it will happen… I wonder if SuperSport will let him go if he’s still under contract and if so, they’ll need to offer them a lot of money.”
Do you think Sundowns should try to sign Jeremy Brockie?
