Thamsanqa Gabuza and Kermit Erasmus have seen very little competitive action of late, with Orlando Pirates’ CAF Champions League involvement, however the two players will get the opportunity to turn out for coach Roger de Sa’s team as the domestic season continues.
Gabuza joined Bucs from Golden Arrows during the recent transfer window, along with fellow strikers Kermit Erasmus and Lennox Bacela. However, Gabuza was not registered by Pirates for the team’s Champions League campaign, which ruled him out of selection for their CAF action.
Meanwhile, Erasmus received some game-time with the recent Bafana Bafana squad that defeated Botswana 4-1 and lost to Zimbabwe 2-1, respectively.
De Sa tells the Siya crew that the next string of matches will allow him to utilise his squad better, with the availability of all of his players, barring injuries and suspensions.
De Sa told Soccer-Laduma, “Having some PSL action would be nice for us. A few of the guys haven’t had much chance to play competitively. At least Kermit has had some game-time with Bafana. Can you believe it? We’ve only played one league match and already the Telkom Knock Out fixtures are out.”
Pirates will be in action tonight, when they take on Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium in an Absa Premiership outing. The action gets underway at 19:30.
