Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates striker, Kermit Erasmus, will once again face a weekend without any game time, as Bucs take on Esperance in the semi-finals of the 2013 CAF Champions League.
Erasmus is ineligible to play in the CAF Champions League for Bucs because of his involvement in the CAF Confederations Cup for SuperSport United in the last PSL season.
The 23-year-old striker has only featured in Bucs’ two Absa Premiership matches, the MTN8 competition and two international matches with Bafana.
Erasmus feels frustrated by having no continuity but remains optimistic of playing more regular football as soon as the Absa Premiership resumes.
Erasmus told Soccer-Laduma, “It’s one of those things hey. It wasn’t bothering me much because I know the team will enjoy the success if it goes well but at some point I’ll get my chance to play regularly. There’s league and Telkom Knockout to play, so I can still play lots of football this season.”
Erasmus went on to tell the Siya crew about the preparations leading up to the CAF Champions League match against Esperance.
“The intensity in our training is of good quality. The players all look really hungry for this, especially after what happened on Saturday. Everyone is ready to go,” added Erasmus.
