Former Elfsborg and Djurgardens striker, James Keene, is set to arrive in South Africa at some point in the next few days to be assessed by Kaizer Chiefs.
The 29-year-old forward, who last played for North East United in the Indian Super League, is a free agent after leaving India late last year, and will be hoping to impress during his spell at Naturena.
Keene has experience in several divisions around the world, as well as playing in Europa and Champions League qualifiers, scoring over 30 goals during his time in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Amakhosi head coach, Stuart Baxter, will know Keene from his own spell in Sweden, and will be hoping to find a physical presence that can match that of Kingston Nkhatha, who recently left Chiefs for SuperSport United.
According to Siya sources in Europe, Keene will spend some time with Chiefs once arriving over the next few days to see whether he fits in at the club, with a view to signing a short-term deal in Mzansi.
The crew was informed that Keene, who has been training with Djurgarden since leaving NE United, has attracted interest from a number of Swedish clubs, including IFK Goteborg, however will be checking things out at Naturena before making a decision on his future.
