Ajax Cape Town striker, Eleazar Rodgers, has vowed to give Kaizer Chiefs a run for their money ahead of their league clash tonight at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
In their first round clash, the Urban Warriors managed to grab the three points at Cape Town Stadium in November last year, with Tasreeq Morris scoring the only goal to separate the two sides.
Rodgers said the mood is high in the camp as they’re motivated by the game itself.
“Chiefs are a big team and we’re motivated as players you know, but playing in Polokwane could be hard for us. However, we’re up for the challenge. It’s going to be a tough game I must say, they need to stay on top of the table and we’re looking at going up. And above all, they’d like to settle the score as we beat them in the first round. The progress is there under our new coach, Roger De Sa, and we’ve played well so our aim is to get a win against Chiefs tonight.
“We have senior players back in the team like our captain, Dominic Issacs and Granwald Scott, which means we’re motivated and ready for this one. Hopefully the young players will get a chance and prove themselves. We have only one win under our new coach and this is the opportunity to do so,” said Rodgers.
The Urban Warriors are sitting at position 10 after 22 games with 28 points, while Amakhosi currently lead the Absa Premiership table with 46 points from 21 games.
