With the league’s top goal-scorer always walking away with an accolade at the end of every season, Soccer Laduma takes a look at eight players who have been the best assist providers in the past campaigns in the Absa Premiership.
Percy Tau for Mamelodi Sundowns:
During the 2017/18 campaign, Percy Tau was joint top goal-scorer with Rodney Ramagalela in the league, however, the player also recorded the most amount of league assists, getting in 15 by the end of the season.
Khama Billiat for Mamelodi Sundowns:
Khama Billiat ended off the 2015/16 campaign with Sundowns, bagging 14 assists, helping his team to be crowned Absa Premiership champions in that season.
Jabulani Maluleke for Polokwane City:
Jabulani Maluleka finished the 2017/18 campaign with Polokwane City with 12 assists, just three less than Tau did in the same season.
Aubrey Ngoma for Cape Town City:
Aubrey Ngoma experienced arguably his best season of his professional football career during the 2016/17 campaign with Cape Town City, where he recorded 12 assists in 28 games.
Daine Klate for Bidvest Wits:
The Premier Soccer League’s most decorated footballer ended off the 2015/16 season having created 12 assists.
Siphiwe Tshabalala for Kaizer Chiefs:
Tshabalala recorded 12 assists in the 2013/14 campaign with Kaizer Chiefs.
Other players who also ended off a season with 12 assists, was Billiat for Ajax Cape Town in the 2012/13 campaign and Thulani Serero also for Ajax in the 2010/11 season.
