Several players will be making switches elsewhere in the upcoming July/August transfer window, with Kaizer Chiefs so far believed to be making wholesale changes to their squad, as they are set to release several players from their books.
However, here are up to eight defenders in the Absa Premiership that have been linked with moves away from their current clubs.
Thamsanqa Mkhize, Taariq Fielies and Edmilson Dove:
Cape Town City had an impressive 2018/19 campaign, winning the MTN8 trophy and finishing off in fourth place on the Absa Premiership standings. With that being said, it comes as no surprise that a few of their key players are being eyed up by interested suitors.
Fielies has been linked with a move to the big three, while Mkhize was previously tracked by Orlando Pirates and Dove by undisclosed clubs in the Netherlands.
Brian Onyango and Siyanda Xulu:
The Maritzburg United duo has previously been linked with Pirates, although it remains to be seen where their immediate future lies, should the Team Of Choice hold on to their top-flight status.
Bangaly Soumahoro:
Soumahoro’s future with Sundowns is still up in the air currently, with indications that he could be leaving the Chloorkop-based club in the upcoming transfer window.
Thabo Matlaba and Justice Chabalala:
The Pirates duo have been linked with an exit from the Buccaneers for quite some time now and it remains to be seen where they will be plying their trade in the new season. As things stand, Black Leopards are believed to have enquired about Chabalala.
It remains to be seen where the aforementioned players will be plying their trade in the new season.
