The midfield strongman, who can also play in defence, has been given an opportunity to revive his career after being signed by Black Leopards.

“Edwin Gyimah has become the latest signing for Black Leopards. He signed with the club today (Friday),” confirmed a source.

Contacted for comment, local agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports Management, who represented the 28-year-old Ghanaian during the talks with the Limpopo outfit, confirmed the deal for the former Orlando Pirates player.

“But how did you know? I would have preferred Black Leopards to confirm it – either Mr Tshifhiwa Thidiela or Mr Elijah Mulaudzi. Yeah, Edwin Gyimah has signed with Black Leopards,” confirmed Mulovhedzi.

“I am pleased to have been the one who did the deal as Gyimah and I come a very long way. I remember back in the day during my earlier days as the representative of players, he used to help me a lot when he was with SuperSport United. I was residing in a squatter camp at the time and he used to assist me in many different ways. We had been close since then,” the representative adds.

“So, to me this comes as a way of saying thank you to him. Guys like Gyimah, Mabhuti Khenyeza and William Shongwe were very supportive to me in what I was doing as I also had a business of selling soccer boots at the time. Even the head coach at the club at the time, Gavin Hunt, was supportive. All I am trying to say with all of this is that I am that kind of a guy who doesn’t forget easily. What I like the most about Gyimah is that he is humble and it was not difficult for me to help him when I had to. About contract details and everything else, please speak to Black Leopards,” concluded Mulovhedzi.
