With a host of players set to join the Orlando Pirates first team, legendary former player, Edward Motale, wants to see the new acquisitions prove themselves on the pitch and win silverware.
Pirates have been busy in the transfer window and have brought the likes of Thabiso Kutumela and James Okwuosa to the club, along with further alterations to the team as new coach, Muhsin Ertugral prepares for the campaign. Motale believes that the new faces at the club will be under pressure to get the results that the crop of players under Tinkler couldn’t.
“Its a big honour for anyone to sign and play for Pirates,” he told the Siya crew. “But now it’s up to the players to prove themselves and do what they are expected to do at the team and be what they were at their teams.”
Motale added that the returning players also bear a responsibility to make their new teammates feel at home at the club.
“As a team its important also that the new players are welcomed by the players they have found at the team. Unity is what will help the team succeed this coming season," the Bafana Bafana legend observed.
Ertugral’s men will now undergo preseason preparations as they work towards the Carling Black Label Cup encounter with Kaizer Chiefs on 30 July.
