Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Edward Manqele, has joined Chippa United on a season-long loan deal.
It was revealed by the Siya crew this morning that the player decided against taking Sundowns to the PSL DRC after he and his agent had earlier planned.
Sundowns announced in July already that Manqele was joining Chippa on a season-long loan deal, alongside with Thamsanqa Sangweni.
However, Manqele’s agent Josiah Mphono later revealed that the player was no longer heading to Chippa, after they rejected the terms of the loan deal between the club and Sundowns.
Mike Makaab talks to the Siya crew on the Soccer Laduma Supporters Club this week. The agent, who looks after the likes of Andile Jali and Knowledge Musona, talks about money, SA’s best ever export and the most disappointing one. To check out the Q&A, click here.
Sangweni is already with Chippa and has been playing for Kosta Papic’s side this season. Mphono confirmed to the Siya crew that Manqele’s move to Chippa is back on.
“We have been concerned about the terms of the loan deal. We have reached an agreement and they (Sundowns) have deleted those terms. Both parties are happy. We are happy with the outcome. If the boy is fit and the coach plans to use him against Sundowns then the player will play against them. We have agreed terms with Chippa. The coach of Chippa will play Manqele against Sundowns if he feels that the player is fit for that game. If he doesn’t play it won’t be because of a certain clause. Those clauses don’t work,” said Mphono.
