Kaizer Chiefs striker, Edward Manqele, appears to be at odd with his agent, Josiah Mphono, once again.
After facilitating Manqele’s move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Chippa United in October last year, Mphono had to take the player and Chippa to the PSL DRC in March this year to get what was owed to him by the two parties.
The latest news reaching the Siya desk has revealed that Mphono and Manqele still appear to be at loggerheads, with the former claiming that he has not been compensated for the player’s recent move to Chiefs in the July/August transfer window.
It is understood that Manqele is still under contract with the agent but is trying to engineer a move away from him.
“Edward Manqele, who is attempting to reignite his career at Kaizer Chiefs, is trying to part ways with his agent, Josiah Mphono. It might not be easy for him as the agent claims that the player has a two-year contract with him,” a source revealed.
“The relationship between the two has never been the same after Mphono took Manqele and Chippa United to the PSL DRC, following the agent’s success in engineering his move out of Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Mphono is making attempts to meet with Kaizer Motaung to get to the bottom of the player’s transfer to Chiefs. He is expected to argue about being left out of the deal when Manqele made the switch. It is understood that there could be yet another DRC,” the source concluded.
Let us know your thoughts on the matter. Do you think that another PSL DRC for Manqele could be harmful to Manqele’s mental state?
