Zuma’s Amakhosi Absence Explained

Kaizer Chiefs’ tough start to the Absa Premiership season continued last night, with questions being asked about the exclusion of attacker, Dumisani Zuma.
The 23-year-old forward was given his first start of the season over the weekend as he played a major role in the Amakhosi’s impressive 3-0 win over Free State Stars, however was missing from the squad as Chiefs faced Baroka on Tuesday evening.
Zuma was one of a few changes that Coach Giovanni Solinas made as his side went in search of their first league victory, with Joseph Molangoane and Virgil Vries both missing due to the injuries that they sustained against Ea Lla Koto.
Though not injured, Zuma was also forced to sit the game out – hence the return of Ryan Moon to the squad – after picking up a last minute bug.
The club’s official website explained, “Dumsani Zuma, for example, who had done so well against Ea Lla Kota, was a late withdrawal from the squad due to flu.”
Chiefs’ next game sees them face Maritzburg United – who are also without a win this season – and Solinas will be hoping that Zuma recovers in time to return to action.
