Former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Dominic Mateba, is hoping for a fresh start to his football career by starting all over in a lower league and working his way up to the top, if he is lucky in his journey.
A lot was expected from Mateba when he was at Chiefs under Vladimir Vermezovic in the 2011/12 season.
The 25-year-old struggled for game time at the star-studded Naturena side, with the likes of Bernard Parker and Lehlohonolo Majoro regulars in the team at the time.
The player’s agent, Ben Kokela, told the Siya crew that he is working on getting Mateba a club in the NFD.
“Do you remember Dominic Mateba? He is my player now and I’m busy trying to help him to get a club in the NFD. He is playing in the Second Division in Cape Town at the moment,” said Kokela.
The Free State-born player had a stint with Dynamos in the NFD after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Chiefs.
He did not last long at the Limpopo outfit, and his career has since taken a nosedive. Soccer Laduma has been told that FC Cape Town is the NFD club that Mateba has been recommended to.
