Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo is no stranger to winning trophies for the Soweto giants. As a player he helped the Amakhosi win several competitions, however, he is now pulling the strings from the bench.
As coach Stuart Baxter’s assistant, Khumalo played his part in helping the side win the 2012/13 Absa Premiership, and today will be on the bench once again as Chiefs battle it out in the Nedbank Cup final against SuperSport United.
Khumalo told the Siya crew that the players are eager for another trophy after securing the league crown.
“The players are hungry for this trophy. We haven't won it since it was launched and this is our chance, and the players know that. That's why they are hungry for the trophy and a double as well.
“We will be going out there and give all we have, not just for ourselves, but for our supporters as well and for everyone at Amakhosi,” the former Bafana Bafana midfielder concluded.
