AmaZulu FC player of the season Makhehlene Makhaula has revealed his biggest disappointment last season.
Makhaula was one of the key players at Usuthu during the last campaign and was seen as a conductor of defence and attack which helped the club to dominate in most of their games.
Despite his successful season, the midfielder admits being overlooked by national team coaches disappointed him.
"Many people knew me as a very hard tackling midfielder, so coach Benni McCarthy told me to play simple football. He also made me grow in confidence. When he came in, it was like he always watched me. He believed in me," Makhaula said addressing the media.
"For me, I was disappointed for not being part of that COSAFA Cup team but was comforted by the fact that Veli Mothwa and Siyethemba Sithebe were part of that team and did well. I still believe there's still an opportunity to receive that call-up."
The midfielder has promised war next season, as he is motivated by more games.
"Next season you will see a better Makhaula. I won't stop, I will keep on fighting for the club, I'm more motivated for new season," he added.
