Under Allan Freese, Platinum Stars have had a good 2013/14 campaign so far, losing just once in the league and triumphing in the MTN8 against Orlando Pirates.
With Cavin Johnson at the helm last season, the season went down to the wire, with Dikwena chasing Kaizer Chiefs all the way in the league but ultimately having to settle for second place.
There were those that thought the wheels would come off in the North West following Johnson's departure for SuperSport United, but that has not been the case.
This time last season the Phokeng-based outfit had won two games, the same as this campaign, and had lost three games compared to just the one loss so far this season.
Dikwena take on Maritzburg United this weekend as they attempt to make it through to the next round of the Telkom Knockout, something they failed to do last season.
Freese will be encouraged by the way that his team have started the season, and with their first six games this season improving even further on last season, he will be hoping that their good form can continue so that they can challenge for the PSL title once again.
