Platinum Stars have signed goalkeeper Kabelo Dambe on a permanent deal, having spent the season on loan with the Phokeng-based outfit.
The Botswana international sho-stopper joined the side from Township Rollers on a one-year loan deal, at the start of the 2012/13 season, with an option for a permanent move.
Dikwena have since exercised their option, with Dambe joining his countryman, Mogakolodi Ngele, at the club. Stars’ administrator, Suzan Phala, confirmed to the Siya crew that Dambe’s stay has been made permanent.
“He has renewed his contract with Platinum Stars. He is one of the players that renewed their contracts with the club. Robert Ng’ambi, Kabelo Dambe and others have all renewed their contracts.
“We know that Thuso (Phala) and Enocent (Mkhabela) are leaving (for SuperSport United). But most of the players have renewed their contracts,” said Phala.
The 23-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal with the club, having proved a capable replacement for coach Cavin Johnson, in Siyabonga Mpontshane’s absence.
Mpontshane, who has been the team’s first choice goalkeeper throughout the season, was unable to complete the 2012/13 campaign owing to injury.
