Ahead of today’s Bafana Bafana squad announcement for the crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Botswana next month, Kagisho Dikgacoi says that he is keen to help the national team in their quest to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil.
The burly central midfielder has been out of the national team set-up in recent times, however coach Gordon Igesund recently emphasised how impressed he has been with the player’s progress at Crystal Palace.
Dikgacoi played well against both Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City in the English Premier League, although his team ended up on the losing side. Speaking to the Siya crew, he said that he would welcome the a national team call-up.
The midfielder told Soccer-Laduma, “If it happens that I get called up, I will appreciate it. I would like to help Bafana qualify for the next round of qualifiers.”
“It’s going to be a tough game against Botswana and, if we win and Ethiopia falter, there will still be a long way to go on the road to Brazil. I’d love to take part in that game, but if it doesn’t happen, then it’s fine.”
