Did Komphela Confirm Chiefs Exit?

"As I go out, I must thank everybody," were the words of Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela after the win over Platinum Stars.

Amakhosi returned to winning ways in the Absa Premiership with a slender victory over Dikwena on Sunday afternoon.

Chiefs released a statement earlier in the week stating that will be a 'complete overhaul' of personnel at the end of the season.

The club did not confirm anything about Komphela's future, although his contract does expire at the end of the season.

However, Komphela thanked everyone that put pressure on him and alluded that he could leave the Soweto giants.

“Personally, I must thank everyone who has put pressure on me. I couldn’t have been the coal that I am. I couldn’t have been the diamond that I am. I would have stayed a simple muddy house,” Komphela told SuperSport.

“It is through pressure that you get better.

“But you have to accept the pressure because at the back of not accepting pressure you are denying “God what he wants you to do. He is preparing for another environment - it could be outside football, it could be anywhere else. So don’t say no to challenges, rather seek more wisdom.

“I have grown immensely. I am not the same coach that came to Chiefs, as I go out I must thank everybody.

“The pressure that you receive makes you a better person. Emotionally, I was very weak as a person but if you ask me now the emotions are stronger and that moves deeper into the levels of faith.

“Maybe I need to be more faithful and the only way to do that is to have emotions that are strong and stable, that nothing hurts you but that comes from thinking.”

While it’s not exactly certain what Komphela meant from his statement, it seems that he is alluding to his possible exit.

If is true that Steve Komphela is the main problem no the players, whoever take over has to persist where Komphela left off working with the same players to demonstrate Steve's failure. That would be fair to him that yes he is a failure indeed.

yes , i was you Bra steve i would leave Kaizer Chiefs long time ago. but to it shows that you are ignorant , you came to chiefs to ruin the players, look now you have 3 season without any trophy ,what kind of a coach you are ? but i do understand that this is not your category, you just came to soccer because used to play not to coach. congratulation bra Steve , you are very good when its come to destroy .well done papa. if you are decided to leave , as supporters we are saying we will give you all the support to leave Kaizer chiefs .

I don't know if should say sory for everything they've(The supporters & management done or said to you, 'cause you sounded so loud if i may say so.....like you've learned a lot from everything. No spacifically from being alluded,,,to leave. All those years you've spent with different players,,,different squad . the pressure you saw in their eyes, was your responsibility . Forgetting all the loss,,,,you the best. Fact,,, you managed to win ,,,you beated Sundowns. You deserve morethan a chan coach. love you. #Spirit

I think somehow the likes of Malose and others feel bad that the weakest coach at Chiefs' history is leaving and their happy days are over. As for the argument of players at Chiefs I still believe that even if Steve was to coach Sunflops it will be the same. Look even Pizza Mosimane is not such a great coach his only advantage is Motsepe's deep pockets. Coming back to the issue of players I still think that another coach will have won something at Chiefs with the present bunch of players at Chiefs but Steve has no tactical acumen to use them properly. Now look at Eymael from when he arrived at Polokwane City what he did with that team with no big name players and he is now with Free State Stars and he has done the same and the reason is that the man has a high tactical acumen of the game and above all he is a disciplinarian of par excellent which our own Steve doesn't possess. To me Eymael will do better at Chiefs than Fadlu David and Steve Khompela can dream. NB I still think that Free State Stars can beat Chiefs in the Nedbank cup when they meet because they have a brilliant coach and Chiefs have a school teacher for a coach!!!!!

@Dona12 i know u love rats bt in your calculation what did u do with the other two years...? Steve was no good coach he still isn't..! Maybe better philosopher...! He failed all the years at chiefs. Whith material or not he wouldn't have made tge cut. I mean steve could get nowhere with this current sundowns squad..!

Since there is no more corruption in our PSL,no cups to a particular team. Paul Dolezer once revealed something during his time in South Africa.
