Mahamutsa Blow For Ea Lla Koto
Defensive Concerns For Free State Stars
Free State Stars received a major blow in their planning for their upcoming games this season, following a long-term injury to the team’s experienced defender, Rooi Mahamutsa.
News coming out of the Ea Lla Koto camp is that the former Orlando Pirates defender has picked up a knee injury. It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that the centre back, who will be turning 36 next month, is likely to be on the sidelines for several weeks.
“Rooi Mahamutsa is injured. It’s a serious injury. It is a major blow to the team because he is likely to be out for seven to eight months,” a source told the Siya crew.
Stars coach, Luc Eymael, confirmed to the Siya crew that Mahamutsa will be taken to a different doctor for a second opinion.
In other news for Stars, the team will also be without the defensive duo of Thamsanqa Teyise and Sifiso Mbhele for their upcoming game, which will be against Mamelodi Sundowns next week.
Both players have since been suspended.
