Furman: What I’ll Miss The Most…

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma this week, Dean Furman opened up about some of the things he will miss once he leaves the country.

It was confirmed a few months ago that the Bafana Bafana international will not be extending his stay with SuperSport United beyond June 30, as he will return back to the United Kingdom for the rest of his professional career.

Despite both the club management, coach and teammates trying to pursue him to stay, the 31-year-old midfielder has long made up his mind, although will not leave Mzansi without any fond memories.

After almost five years of plying his trade in South Africa’s top-flight, in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, here’s what Furman said he will miss the most about his time in the country.

“I’ll miss the people. In the UK, apart from the club you play for, no one is going to recognise you. No one is going to come up to you and no one is going to want to talk football, so I’m definitely going to miss the people. Just walking down the street, someone stops you and you are playing Pirates over the weekend and they want discuss that. I absolutely love that interaction! Football-wise, I’ll miss my teammates, playing for SuperSport and being the captain. I’ll miss those who work for SuperSport behind the scenes because we’ve got some of the most incredible people,” he said.
