De Sa: The Quality Of Pirates Came Through Against Us

Platinum Stars coach Roger De Sa lamented their 2-0 loss against Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
It was their third defeat in a row and leaves them firmly rooted at the bottom of the table, with De Sa faced with a daunting task to maintain their top-flight status.
“I thought it was always going to be difficult. We had a very good chance to go 1-0 up, but they made a very good save. After that they got better as the game went and scored what I thought was a pretty good goal,” De Sa told SuperSport after the game.
Poor finishing like it was in their last few encounters came back to haunt them once more, but De Sa believes they put on a better showing in the second stanza.
“We got caught when we knew that’s how they’re going to play. Second half we started a bit better, put more pressure with another striker but again we could have got the equalizer but didn’t take our chances.
“We got caught on the counter attack and that’s how it was going to be. At the end of the day, you’ve got take your chances if you are to beat Pirates,” he said.
What’s more concerning is their limit attacking entries, where they struggled to create and finish off the half chances that came their way.
“The finishing off chances has been our problem. Like today, (Bonginkosi) Ntuli’s chance was a good one but the keeper (Jackson Mabokgwane) made a good save.
“But we need to create and score more but we didn’t do that,” stated the former Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town coach.
